Aramco, an energy and chemicals corporation, has joined Aston Martin’s partnership portfolio in a broad and “long-term” arrangement.
Aston Martin has signed arrangements with Saudi Arabian integrated energy and chemicals firm Aramco ahead of the 2022 Formula One season, securing a flagship partner.
Aramco has been involved in Formula One since 2020, when they secured a multi-year deal with the series that includes trackside branding and title rights to a several Grands Prix, but they decided to go one step further by collaborating with a team.
According to RacingNews365.com, Aramco held conversations with various teams throughout the Formula One circuit in 2021, with a particular interest in collaborating with a Mercedes-powered team, whilst shareholding was also a consideration in any potential partnership.
Aramco’s partnership with Aston Martin will “drive the development of highly efficient internal combustion engines, high-performance sustainable fuels, advanced lubricants, and the deployment of non-metallic materials in vehicles,” according to the agreement, which spans motorsport and the road car market.
Aston Martin convinced “incredible” Aramco will help them win F1 titles

“We are very excited to collaborate with such a renowned name in the automotive industry to advance motorsports technology,” said Ahmad Al Khowaiter, Aramco’s Chief Technology Officer.
