Red Bull has extended Max Verstappen’s contract to the end of 2028
After signing a new five-year new agreement, Max Verstappen believes it was a “easy decision” to stay with Red Bull.
The Dutchman had already signed a contract that would keep him at the Milton Keynes team until the end of 2023, but the new contract will keep him there until the end of 2028.
After winning his first World Championship in 2021, Verstappen is overjoyed to have secured his career with Red Bull.
“I really enjoy being part of the Oracle Red Bull Racing Team, so choosing to stay to the 2028 season was an easy decision,” Verstappen said.
“I love this team and last year was simply incredible, our goal since we came together in 2016 was to win the championship and we have done that, so now it’s about keeping the number one on the car long-term.”
Verstappen’s new agreement is the longest on the F1 grid at the moment, but it follows in the footsteps of other multi-year contracts.
Lando Norris has signed a contract with McLaren that would keep him with the team until the end of 2025, while Charles Leclerc has a contract with Ferrari that will keep him with the team until the end of 2024.
