Future Williams liveries are part of Gulf’s “interesting plans

During the FW45’s introduction, Williams confirmed Gulf, an iconic name in the automotive industry, as one of their primary sponsors for the 2023 season.

Gulf claims to have “interesting ideas” for more liveries with Williams after being named the team’s primary sponsor in 2023.

The logos of the oil company was visible on the FW45 during the squad’s official launch at their offices in Grove, Oxfordshire.

Williams Commercial Director, James Bower, stated that the squad hopes to carry out something based on fan involvement in the future even though the design for 2023 is quite similar to the color scheme from the previous year.

“We have agreed on a presence that will run throughout the season, but we do have some exciting plans based on digitally led fan engagement for things that we can do later that would be be disruptive,” according to Bower.

“But for today at the launch, it was about announcing the partnership to the fans.”

Gulf deal fills the sponsorship gap

Nicholas Latifi, a Canadian racer, provided the team with major sponsorship revenue through his seat, which is now gone since he left at the end of 2022.

In response to a question regarding this, Bower stated that the squad is trying to expand its sponsor list and that it has “commercial targets” that should enable it to overcome any shortfall.

“We are building a world class partner portfolio and Gulf clearly are a key component of that going forward,” explained Bower.

“We have commercial targets that will see us beyond any shortfall from those recent changes.”
