Lewis Hamilton has stated his willingness for “everyone” to be able to see the FIA’s report on the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix races.

Following the controversies surrounding the conclusion of the 2021 season, it was confirmed that an inquiry will be conducted. Since then, during the most recent F1 Commission meeting on February 14, “detailed discussions” about the race were held.

Only a few days later, the FIA announced a reorganisation of the governance team, which included Michael Masi’s replacement as Race Director for the 2022 season, among other changes.

Meanwhile, the entire report of the FIA’s inquiry will be released during the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 18-20.

Hamilton hopes F1 can “move forwards in a positive light”

Mercedes has already expressed their opinion on the FIA’s restructure, with Team Principal Toto Wolff remarking that the move taken was “very encouraging,” especially in terms of improving the “support structure for the Race Director.”

Hamilton, on the other hand, said it was encouraging to see the FIA “taking measures to improve.”

Despite the fact that the seven-time World Champion has not yet received the investigation report, he acknowledges that he is eager for everyone to read it in order to gain a “better understanding.”

“I’ve not seen it. I didn’t think it was out yet,” Hamilton told media including RacingNews365.com.

“I’m excited to see the results from that report. I think hopefully everyone will get to see it, and to have perhaps a better understanding of everything.

“I think ultimately, like everything, it’s down to understanding where we’ve been, so we can move forwards in a positive light.”

Hamilton debuted Mercedes’ new challenger, the W13, with new teammate George Russell on February 18th, and went on to test the car for the first time at Silverstone.
