Guenther Steiner expects that Haas’ most recent accomplishments will serve as a springboard for even greater goals in the season’s second half.
In the second part of the season, Guenther Steiner is optimistic that Haas’ current scoring streak would help them achieve greater results.
After two consecutive double-point results, along with a season-high 14 points in the Austrian Grand Prix, Haas enters the Circuit Paul Ricard.
Their performance has elevated them to 7th place in the Constructors’ Championship, in front of Williams, Aston Martin, and AlphaTauri.
However, Haas Team Principal Guenther Steiner cautioned the team against expecting points will be simpler to come by in advance of the French GP.
“I’m very happy about it [the previous results] but I’m very happy about it for the team because I’ve told them that they need to believe in themselves because we’ve done it before and we will do it again, and we have, so it’s a very good result,” said Steiner.
“I think we have to be careful about getting too overenthusiastic for the next races, so we’re not thinking that this will keep continuing easily – this is very hard work from a lot of people.
“We will do the best we can and hopefully we can get some more points and have quite a relaxed summer break.”
Steiner has high expectations for the rest of the season
The number of points they have scored this season is a sharp contrast to their pointless 2021 campaign, which was the first time in their history.
Haas’ choice to concentrate on the 2022 regulatory revisions is paying off, as they already have more points than they did in the previous three seasons put together.
Steiner went on to say that he hoped the American squad’s best was yet to come and that he was aiming to work his way up to a podium result.
“I would say it’s an almost perfect weekend [in Austria]; there’s always margin to do better in racing until you win everything, but nobody wins everything all of the time,” added Steiner.
“It was a very good weekend and everything was executed as best as we could, there were no real mistakes, nothing done wrong.
“Every little step can be better so we move up and one day, hopefully coming soon, we’ll get a podium.
“To pull this together, it’s a bunch of people working hard, there’s no secret, it’s just everybody doing their job.”
