Despite not using Max Verstappen’s #1 car, Team Redline emerged victorious in the Virtual Le Mans 24 Hours.
After Max Verstappen withdrew from Formula 1, the sister vehicle of his #1 Team Redline entry won the Virtual Le Mans 24 Hours.
When Verstappen’s #1 entry withdrew due to connectivity troubles, he called the race a “clown show” and said he would not compete again.
At the Circuit de la Sarthe, the #2 team, which included current Formula 2 winner Felipe Drugovich, IndyCar and Formula E racer Felix Rosenqvist, Chris Lulham, and Luke Bennett, was successful in navigating their way to victory.
Several hours after the competition was called off due to a possible security breach, Lulham was in charge as the LMP machine crossed the finish line to earn victory.
Verstappen struggled with connection problems during his previous assault on the competition, and he dropped out this time with a car driven by Jeffrey Rietveld, Luke Browning, and Diogo Pinto while leading from position #2 with seven hours remaining and a one-minute advantage.
