Attack on Titan: The Final Season Part 3 anime’s second half will premiere in the fall

The Attack on Titan anime has been a cultural phenomenon since its first season aired in 2013, captivating audiences around the world with its intense action, complex characters, and jaw-dropping plot twists. The anime has since become a staple of the anime industry, with multiple seasons and spin-offs, including the highly anticipated Attack on Titan The Final Season.

The official Twitter account for the anime recently announced that the second half of Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 3, known as Shingeki no Kyojin The Final Season Kanketsu-hen, will debut this fall. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer and a special video featuring the new opening theme song “Under the Tree” by SIM.

The first half of the season aired as a one-hour special on Saturday and left fans on the edge of their seats with its stunning animation and gripping storylines. The Final Season anime premiered on NHK in December 2020 and aired for 16 episodes, with both Funimation and Crunchyroll streaming the anime with English subtitles. Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block also began airing the anime in January 2021, while Funimation began streaming an English dub in the same month.

The Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2 premiered with episode 76 on the NHK General channel in January 2022 and aired for 12 episodes. Both Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the second part as it aired in Japan.

Creator Hajime Isayama first launched the original Attack on Titan manga in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009, and the manga’s final volume was released in June 2021. The manga’s popularity and success led to the creation of the anime series and other spin-offs. The English version of the manga is available digitally and in print through Kodansha USA Publishing.
