In a recent interview with Comicbook.com, Bryce Papenbrook discussed his approach to playing Eren Jaeger in this final season, revealing that the character is very different from previous seasons. He described Eren in Seasons 1 through 3 as extremely angry, where everything that came out of his mouth had anger attached to it. However, in this final season, there’s a layer of coldness sitting over that anger. Papenbrook and Mike McFarland had to recreate Eren’s voice and character for this season, which was exciting for him as an actor. He also shared that there were moments between Eren and other characters where he didn’t fully understand why Eren was saying certain things, adding even more intrigue to the upcoming final episodes.
