Dragon Ball fans cosplay Super Saiyan Goku at Wydad vs Simba game

On the day of the Quarter-Finals of the CAF Champions League match between Wydad Athletic Club and Simba Sports Club, the Wydad Athletic Club fans made quite an impression with their Dragon Ball-themed tifos. Dragon Ball is a popular manga series that was written and illustrated by Akira Toriyama. The series follows the story of Goku, a Saiyan warrior who was sent to Earth when his home planet, Vegeta, was destroyed. Since then, he has been protecting the Earth from all sorts of danger.

Before the match started, the Wydad fans unveiled three different tifos, each inspired by a different aspect of the Dragon Ball franchise. The first tifo depicted Goku in his normal form with his black hair and clothing that resembled the outfit from Dragon Ball Super. The second tifo had the words “Beast Mode” with the letter “O” replaced by a dragon ball, similar to the series title card. The third and final tifo featured Goku in his Super Saiyan form with his signature blonde hair and turquoise-colored eyes, dressed in his iconic Dragon Ball Z outfit.

In addition to the tifos, there was also a banner displayed at the bottom of each one that read “Getting Stronger, Going Further On Any Road.” This was a message of support from the fans to the players, assuring them that no matter the outcome of the match, they would always support their team.

The match between Wydad Casablanca and Simba SC was a tightly contested affair, with both teams playing at a high level. The game ended in a 1-1 draw after the second leg of the Quarter-Finals, leading to a penalty shootout. In the end, Wydad Casablanca managed to come out on top, winning the shootout 4-3.

Fans were thrilled to see the Dragon Ball tifos, which not only showcased the popularity of the anime but also demonstrated the dedication of fans to create such impressive displays for their team. The presence of Dragon Ball in a football match also drew attention from international media, which was considered a proud moment for fans of the franchise. Many fans shared their love for Dragon Ball, believing it to be the greatest anime and highlighting its influence on Moroccan culture.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that the Dragon Ball franchise has been featured in football matches. In the past, the popular anime characters, Goku and Shenron, were seen in several tifos created by France’s Paris Saint Germain Football Club.
