Pokemon GO, the augmented reality mobile game developed and published by Niantic, is set to hold its May Community Day event on May 21st, 2023. This exciting event is one of the most highly anticipated events for Pokemon GO players, who are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the featured Pokemon.
In anticipation of the upcoming event, Niantic has been adding a lot of content to the game’s current season, offering players various ways to catch different Pokemon and their variants. One such event that the company has recently announced is the “An Instinctive Hero,” which will be the first Pokemon GO event in May. During this event, several Pokemon will be available to catch, some of which will be special, including an Elekid wearing a special accessory and a Larvesta. The Bug/Fire-type Pokemon will make its debut in Pokemon GO during the event and can be hatched by players from 2km, 5km, and 10km eggs. Additionally, players will have the chance to evolve the Pokemon into Volcarona.
However, the highlight of the month is the May Community Day, which will feature Fennekin as the featured Pokemon. According to Niantic, Fennekin will appear more frequently in the wild on May 21 from 2 pm to 5 pm local time. Fennekin was first added to Pokemon GO in 2020 during the Season of Celebration, along with other Pokemon from the Kalos region, such as Chespin and Froakie. During the event, players who evolve Braixen, Fennekin’s evolution, during or up to five hours afterward will receive a Delphox that knows Charged Attack Blast Burn. On the other hand, those who evolve Braixen specifically at the start of the event will receive a Delphox that also knows Charged Attack Mystical Fire.
To fully enjoy the May Community Day event, players can purchase a $1 ticket that gives them access to Fennekin’s special Research story and themed Field Research with rewards like Stardust and Ultra Balls. In addition, the event will have several bonuses for players, including double Stardust and Candy when capturing Pokemon, and Trades requiring only half the Stardust needed. Pokemon GO players can also face Braixen, one of the Pokemon based on foxes, in four-star raids available on May 21 from 5 pm to 10 pm local time. Finally, the May Community Day will also give themed stickers when spinning PokeStops and opening Gifts.
Despite the excitement surrounding the May Community Day, Pokemon GO has been going through a rough patch lately. The Pokemon GO community was unhappy about the recent changes made by Niantic, which may have impacted player participation in the game. Nevertheless, Pokemon GO remains a popular mobile game, and players are eagerly awaiting the May Community Day event to catch new Pokemon and resources to make the Pokemon they already have stronger.
In conclusion, if you’re a fan of Pokemon GO, mark your calendar for May 21st, 2023, and get ready to catch some Fennekin during the May Community Day event.
