AOT’s Final Season to air in 2 parts, starting March 3rd

NHK, the Japanese broadcasting company, recently announced that the highly-anticipated conclusion to the “Attack on Titan The Final Season” anime will air in two parts. The first part of the anime will premiere on March 3, 2023, at 12:25 a.m., while the second part is expected to air later that same year. Although NHK has not confirmed the duration of each part, it has labeled the first part as a “special broadcast,” which suggests that each part may be an anime special, as opposed to multiple episodes.

To promote the upcoming release, Pony Canyon has released a trailer for the anime. Additionally, a special seven-part compilation anime will air on NHK for three consecutive nights beginning on February 25, 2023.

“Attack on Titan” is a popular anime that first premiered on NHK in December 2020 and ran for a total of 16 episodes. Funimation and Crunchyroll both streamed the anime with English subtitles. The show also aired on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block starting in January 2021, and Funimation began streaming an English dub in the same month.

The second part of “Attack on Titan The Final Season” premiered with episode 76 on the NHK General channel on January 9, 2022, and ran for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll and Funimation streamed the second part as it aired in Japan.

The anime adaptation of “Attack on Titan” is based on a manga series of the same name by Hajime Isayama. The manga first appeared in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine in 2009 and came to a close in April 2021. The 34th and final volume of the manga was released in June 2021, and Kodansha USA Publishing released the manga in English both digitally and in print. The 34th volume of the manga was released in English in October 2021.

Fans of the series are eagerly anticipating the conclusion of the anime, which promises to be an action-packed and emotionally charged finale to a beloved series. With the announcement of the two-part release, viewers will have even more to look forward to in the coming year.
