Sebastian Vettel had to come up with a new method to enjoy his second-place finish at the Race of Champions after his bottle of champagne proved to be a little awkward.
Sebastian Vettel participated in a terrific performance to reach the final of the 2022 Race of Champions, but his celebrations did not go as planned.
In the final of Sunday’s contest, the German battled head-to-head with rally racer Sebastien Loeb, but had to settle for second place after Loeb beat him in the thrilling final heats.
As the two finalists prepared to spray champagne to salute their win, there were no bad feelings. Vettel, on the other hand, appeared to be stranded with a bottle that would not open.
The F1 driver eventually gave up after multiple failed efforts to remove the cork and opted for the innovative alternative of throwing snow instead of champagne. Vettel was also able to borrow Loeb’s bottle in order to continue spraying the bubbly.
