“Attack on Titan” English dubs coming to Crunchyroll

Crunchyroll has recently announced that they will be releasing English dubs of every Attack on Titan OAD (Original Anime DVD). OADs offer fans the opportunity to delve deeper into the world of Hajime Isayama’s terrifying universe and provide side stories that explore certain characters that may not receive enough focus in the main series. Attack on Titan has several OADs, but they have only been available with English subtitles in the past. However, Crunchyroll has now confirmed that they will release English dubbed versions of all three OAD side series: Attack on Titan: Ilse’s Notebook, Attack on Titan: Lost Girls, and Attack on Titan: No Regrets, which together consist of 8 episodes.

Of the three series, Ilse’s Notebook is the only one adapted from original Hajime Isayama material, which adapts a special chapter from Volume 5 of the AoT manga. No Regrets is from a spin-off manga by Gun Snark and follows Levi Ackerman before he joins the Survey Corps during his days as a criminal. Lost Girls is an anthology of short stories by Hiroshi Seko that follow Misa Ackerman and Annie Leonhart.

The English dubbed OADs will be officially available on the Crunchyroll platform on May 8th. These stories are perfect for dedicated fans who are eager for any additional material outside of the main series. Currently, these OADs appear to be the only side content that fans will receive, as no other spin-offs have any official announcements as of yet.

However, once these OADs receive their English dubs, the only remaining Attack on Titan material that will require dubbing will be the final two episodes of the series. The third part of the final season, episode 1, still has not received its English dub, and while fans continue to wait patiently, it is long overdue, and there is no news on when it will be released. The series finale is scheduled to premiere in the fall of this year, and with the second-to-last episode taking so long to produce a dub, dub fans may have to wait a while longer, which could lead to spoilers circulating on the internet before the finale is released.
