The Black Clover franchise has exciting news for fans of the anime film adaptation, “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King.” According to the official Twitter account of Yūki Tabata’s Black Clover manga, a novel adaptation of the movie is set to debut on June 9, just a week before the film’s opening on June 16. Tabata, credited as the original work’s creator, is also serving as the novel’s chief supervisor and original character designer. The author of the novel adaptation is Atarō Kuma, while Johnny Onda is in charge of the scenario.
Originally slated to premiere on March 31, the film’s release was pushed back to June 16 due to the spread of COVID-19, which has affected numerous productions worldwide. Fans eagerly anticipating the film’s release can watch it on Netflix, which will debut the movie on its service simultaneously with its theatrical release.
Aside from his role as chief supervisor and original character designer for the film and novel, Tabata is also part of the team that helped bring the story of “Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King” to life. Staff members from the television anime are returning for the movie, including director Ayataka Tanemura and character designer Itsuko Takeda. Minako Seki is responsible for composing the film’s music.
Moreover, the film boasts a star-studded cast, with Toshihiko Seki playing the role of Konrad Leto, a former Wizard King. Meanwhile, Marie Iitoyo lends her voice to the original character Milly Maxwell, and Fumiya Takahashi plays Jester Galandros, a mysterious wizard with ties to the previous Wizard King. Miyuki Sawashiro and Houchu Ohtsuka also have roles in the film, voicing Princia and Edward, respectively. The film’s theme song, “Here I Stand,” is performed by the talented band Treasure.
