In a dramatic Americas Grand Prix, Enea Bastianini won his second race of the 2022 MotoGP season, seizing the title lead.
Late in the race, the Gresini rider overhauled long-time leader Jack Miller of factory squad Ducati to clinch his maiden podium since his season-opening victory in Qatar.
In 2022, he becomes the first double winner in MotoGP and gains a five-point lead in the standings.

What happened in the Americas Grand Prix?
From the start, Miller seized the lead from polesitter Jorge Martin, but Bastianini progressively chipped away at the Australian’s lead before overhauling him on lap 16.
Alex Rins of Suzuki made a last-lap pass on Miller into the final circuit to finish second and move into second place overall.
Joan Mir, his colleague, was just 1.6s off the last podium slot in fourth, while Bagnaia, who began from the front row, could only accomplish fifth.
Marquez rebounded from a disastrously sluggish start to finish sixth at the checkered flag after a magnificent push through the field.
Marquez and Quartararo competed in a duel over the last few tours that was similar to their 2019 race battles – albeit the two nearly collided on the final circuit when Márquez had a moment rounding Turn 6 and nearly collided with Quartararo.
On lap 14, Marquez had claimed sixth from the Yamaha rider, with the Frenchman fighting back when they nearly collided on lap 19.
Quartararo went wide into Turn 7 as a result of the incident, allowing Marquez to close the gap to 0.143s and claim sixth place.
Martin finished eighth ahead of Zarco in the final, while Maverick Vinales claimed top Aprilia honours from teammate Aleix Espargaro in 10th late in the race.
