Jujutsu Kaisen creator discusses Gojo’s return in latest chapter

After years of anticipation, Jujutsu Kaisen has finally brought back Gojo, much to the delight of fans. In chapter 91, Gojo made his exit from the story, but in the latest chapter, he has made a triumphant return. Creator Gege Akutami has commented on this long-awaited event.

For those not up to date, the recent chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen revealed how our heroes successfully freed Gojo from his seal. Characters like Toge, Yugi, and even an angel joined forces to accomplish this task. Gojo managed to find an escape route through a backdoor in the Prison Realm, granting him freedom. Akutami addressed the significance of Gojo’s return by saying, “Itadori’s right ear returning is my mistake, but Gojo coming back isn’t a mistake.”

It’s evident that Akutami had been planning this witty line for some time, considering Gojo’s absence from the manga for over three years. Gojo was sealed away during the Shibuya Incident arc, over 100 chapters ago, thanks to Geto, or Kenjaku. However, Gojo is now ready to fight back.

Furthermore, Gojo has set a date for his showdown with Geto. They have agreed to face each other on Christmas Eve, allowing Gojo some time to readjust to the world before their confrontation. The sorcerers, especially Gojo’s students, will undoubtedly be thrilled to have him back, especially with the recent events involving Sukuna and Yuta. Gojo will likely take on the role of training Yuji and putting his students to the test in the coming weeks.

However, readers will have to endure a brief hiatus as there won’t be a new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen for a couple of weeks due to Japan’s Golden Week holiday. This break allows fans to reflect on Gojo’s return without interruptions for a little while longer.
