Junya Enoki, the voice actor for Yuji Itadori in Jujutsu Kaisen, has confirmed that the highly anticipated Season 2 of the anime will cover the Shibuya Incident arc. In an interview with ComicBook, Enoki revealed that the production team was working hard on the upcoming season, and fans can expect not only the Hidden Inventory and Premature Death arcs but also the Shibuya Incident arc. Enoki stated that the new season is filled with battles and interesting story arcs, and fans can look forward to the iconic action scenes of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 is confirmed for a two-course run, with a scheduled premiere date during the summer period. While there is no confirmation about the exact number of episodes included in the new season, fans can expect new episodes to be broadcasted weekly until the end of autumn 2023. The CEO of animation studio MAPPA, Manabu Ohtsuka, has promised that Season 2 will subvert expectations, with new content not just being a repeat of Season 1.
In addition, Yuichi Nakamura, who voiced Satoru Gojo, also revealed that Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 would feature additional scenes not derived from the manga series. Nakamura stated that the amount of content has increased compared to the manga, and fans can enjoy the enhanced direction in the anime.
Jujutsu Kaisen follows the story of Yuji, a high school student who becomes the host of a cursed spirit, Ryomen Sukuna. The anime series became popular after its 2020 premiere due to its stunning animation, cinematography, and unique characters. Fans can currently stream Season 1 on Crunchyroll, with Season 2 set to premiere on July 6.
