Jujutsu Kaisen fans are ecstatic about Satoru Gojo finally being freed after three years of serialization. The latest saga’s primary objective was to release him, and fans are thrilled that this task has finally been accomplished. However, despite being sealed for less than three weeks, many significant changes have occurred in Jujutsu Kaisen’s world. This is particularly true regarding the Shibuya Incident, as the jujutsu world’s circumstances have shifted dramatically from when Gojo was first sealed.
Starting with the Shibuya Incident arc, Gojo missed out on numerous significant developments. Kento Nanami and Mahito’s confirmed deaths were among the most significant, while Nobara Kugisaki was seemingly killed but not confirmed dead. In addition, Suguru Geto was revealed to be the ancient sorcerer Kenjaku, who had previously occupied the body of Noritoshi Kamo, the former head of the Kamo clan. Following this revelation, the Culling Games began, and the higher-ups ordered Yuji Itadori’s execution, with Yuta Okkotsu set to kill him. Fortunately, Gojo had already prepared for this, and Yuta saved Yuji as per Gojo’s request.
Throughout the Culling Games arc, several individuals died, including the entire Zenin clan, Mai Zenin, and Masamichi Yaga. Meanwhile, numerous ancient sorcerers reincarnated into modern bodies, and normal citizens who were not previously sorcerers became so after participating in the games. The Culling Games also saw the US Army invade Japan to hunt and capture sorcerers, a plan masterminded by Kenjaku.
In recent chapters, Sukuna took over Megumi’s body and killed Tsumiki Fushiguro. Megumi’s soul has become so deeply submerged beneath Sukuna’s that it seems unlikely that he will regain control of his body. Furthermore, Sukuna’s original corpse was discovered, likely to play a significant role in future events, and Kenjaku established the Culling Game’s final parameters.
Fans are delighted that Gojo has finally been freed and will be present for future developments. However, significant changes have occurred in Jujutsu Kaisen’s world, and fans are excited to see how these developments will impact the story moving forward.
