Jujutsu Kaisen unites Gojo and Megumi in a heart-wrenching cliffhanger

The latest chapter of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga marks the intense climax of the Culling Game arc and delivers a heart-wrenching reunion between Satoru Gojo and Megumi Fushiguro, leaving readers on a suspenseful cliffhanger. Megumi has endured one devastating loss after another in the Culling Game, including his sister Tsumiki. However, things take a dramatic turn as Sukuna escapes from Yuji Itadori’s body and possesses Megumi instead. The Culling Game is far from over, as Kenjaku and Sukuna progress to the final phase of their plan.

In the previous chapter, it was teased that Yuji, Yuta, and others would join forces to unseal Gojo from the Prison Realm and find a way to escape the Culling Game. The latest chapter fulfills this promise by bringing Gojo back into the spotlight after his prolonged absence. However, Gojo must now catch up on the significant events that have unfolded with Megumi.

Chapter 221 of Jujutsu Kaisen opens with Hana and Angel swiftly removing the seal on the Prison Realm, but Gojo mysteriously vanishes. He reappears instantly in the presence of Kenjaku. Before a confrontation ensues, Sukuna interrupts, resulting in Gojo’s reunion with Megumi’s body for the first time since the Shibuya Incident. Sukuna recalls their initial conversation when he threatened to kill Gojo, but Gojo remains unfazed.

Rather than engaging in a full-blown battle against Sukuna and Geto at that moment, Gojo proposes to postpone their fight until December 24th. He explains that he prefers not to remember two death anniversaries, but it is unclear if there is another reason behind his decision. Having spent a long time in the Prison Realm, it is uncertain how much Gojo is aware of the current situation before the final battles. However, if anyone can save Megumi, it is Gojo.
