New characters introduced in ‘Sailor Moon Cosmos’ trailer

The latest trailer for the highly anticipated Sailor Moon Cosmos has just been released, showcasing the fifth series of character spotlights, this time featuring Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune. Fans can now get a glimpse of Haruka and Michiru in action as they prepare for the upcoming two-part movie event.

In their individual character PVs (promotional videos), Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune join the fierce battle that awaits them in Sailor Moon Cosmos. The trailer introduces the return of these beloved characters, with Sailor Uranus voiced by Junko Minagawa (known for her role as Cornelia in Code Geass) and Sailor Neptune voiced by Sayaka Ohara (recognized for her portrayal of Irisviel von Einzbern in the Fate franchise).

Tomoya Takahashi, who contributed to the direction of Gatchaman Crowds, will be at the helm of directing both parts of the Sailor Moon Cosmos crossover event, produced by Toei Animation and Studio Deen. The story is penned by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu, known for his work on “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime,” while the character designs are once again created by Kazuko Tadano, who previously worked on “Sailor Moon seasons 1 and 2.”

The film’s soundtrack is being produced by Yasuharu Takanashi, who previously worked on Sailor Moon Crystal, and the art direction is handled by Yumiko Kuga from Studio Jack (known for “Deaimon: Recipe for Happiness”). Both individuals have prior experience working on Sailor Moon projects, ensuring a seamless continuation of the series’ visual and auditory aesthetics.

Sailor Moon Cosmos adapts the “final battle” from Naoko Takeuchi’s original manga series. This climactic battle was previously depicted in the final arc of the original Sailor Moon anime series, titled “Sailor Moon Sailor Stars.” The first part of the Cosmos franchise is set to release on June 9, followed by the second part on June 30.

The two-part film Sailor Moon Eternal, which premiered in Japan earlier in 2021 and became available on Netflix worldwide on June 3, serves as a continuation of the Sailor Moon Crystal television anime series. Fans can now catch up on the Crystal series by streaming it for free on Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll describes Sailor Moon Crystal as a retelling of Naoko Takeuchi’s iconic manga, following the journey of Sailor Moon as she searches for her fellow Sailor Guardians and the Legendary Silver Crystal to combat the dark forces of Queen Beryl.

Be sure to check out the trailer for the official Sailor Moon Cosmos film, building excitement for this highly anticipated release.
