Rumored Pokemon Presents includes Scarlet/Violet DLC, GO Fest 2023, HOME connectivity, and more

The Pokemon franchise is no stranger to rumors, and the latest batch of information circulating on Twitter and Reddit is a testament to that. Alleged leaks have surfaced, claiming that a Pokemon Presents event will occur on May 2, 2023, unveiling new details about the upcoming DLCs for Scarlet and Violet, the date and location of the 2023 GO Fest, and the compatibility of the HOME app with Scarlet and Violet.

Given the source of these leaks and the questionable nature of anonymous posts on 4Chan, many fans are skeptical about their validity. However, some fans find these rumors somewhat believable, as they align with the typical announcements made by Game Freak and The Pokemon Company.

The mention of GO Fest also seems plausible to many players, as Niantic usually reveals information about the event in the near future, considering that GO Fests traditionally take place during the summer. Additionally, the timing of the HOME compatibility update coincides with the highly anticipated release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which led some fans to question the chaos that would ensue if the rumors turned out to be true. Since HOME is an app, it was seen as less likely to disrupt the release schedule of Tears of the Kingdom.

Interestingly, the rumors make no mention of Pokemon Unite, the popular MOBA spin-off game. This omission raises suspicions among fans, considering the game’s continuous updates and the fact that it was included in a previous Presents event announcement back in February.

To recap the alleged information from the leaked post: The Presents event is scheduled for May 2, 2023, at 2:00 pm UTC. Pokemon GO Fest 2023 is rumored to take place in New York City, Tokyo, and Madrid, Spain. The GO Fest Global event is expected to occur in June, July, or August. Goomy’s shiny form may be introduced in Pokemon GO. There may be news about the GO Plus device and the Sleep app project. The Scarlet and Violet DLC “Treasures of Area Zero” could feature a Ghost/Grass-type Legendary called Ogerpon. A new phenomenon called “Cryolization,” similar to Terastallization but without the large apparatus on a Pokemon’s head, may be revealed. Information about new Pokemon species like Munkidori, Okidogi, Fezandipiti, and Terralet, as well as new moves, TMs, and the return of old moves, might be shared. The trailer hints at the presence of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves in the Pokemon League. HOME’s compatibility with Scarlet and Violet is expected to go live on May 12, 2023. To celebrate the update, the Paradox species Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant may make an appearance with a special marking, possibly in Tera Raid battles.

As with any rumor, fans should approach these claims with skepticism until they are officially confirmed. Hoaxes have been prevalent in recent months, so it’s best not to get too excited until there is concrete evidence to support these rumors.
