Shaymin, also known as the Gratitude Pokemon, has made its global debut in the popular mobile game, Pokemon Go. This highly anticipated event began on April 20 at 10 AM local time and has given players from all over the world a chance to catch this elusive creature. While Shaymin was initially made available during Pokemon Go Fest 2022, this is the first time that players worldwide can catch it.
To catch Shaymin, players will need to complete the Special Research during Sustainability Week, which runs from April 20-26. Upon completing the research, players will be granted access to Shaymin in its Land Forme for free. An excerpt from a blog post on the official Pokemon Go website reads, “It turns out that Shaymin has been sighted in the area, but Professor Willow needs your help to track it down! Assist Professor Willow, and perhaps the gratitude you show on the way will be key to finding this elusive Pokemon.”
It’s important to note that players who initially encountered Shaymin during Go Fest 2022 will have an opportunity to encounter the Pokemon again this week. Shaymin is a Mythical Grass-type Pokemon that was first introduced during Generation IV and made an appearance in the Diamond and Pearl games for Nintendo DS. One of the unique traits of this Pokemon is its ability to change between its land and sky forms at will, unlike most other Pokemon.
While the Shaymin release has been highly anticipated, it’s not the only thing that’s been on players’ minds lately. Niantic, the company behind Pokemon Go, recently raised the prices of Remote Raid Passes in the game. Additionally, players are now limited to only one Remote Raid per day, leading to criticism from the community.
