Sukuna now considered as Gojo Satoru’s biggest enemy in Jujutsu Kaisen 219

Chapter 219 of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga features an intense battle between Sukuna, the evil king of curses, and Yorozu, a skilled sorcerer. The chapter marks a significant moment in the series, as Sukuna threatens to take over Gojo Satoru’s status as the strongest sorcerer alive. Gojo Satoru is the indisputable strongest character in Jujutsu Kaisen, but his reign might finally be getting challenged.

After Ryomen Sukuna successfully defeated Yorozu in combat, the king of curses completed his usurpation of Megumi Fushiguro’s body and made the Ten Shadows Technique his own. Now that he’s in possession of the Zenin Clan’s most coveted cursed technique, the power balance in JJK might be shifting once more.

Despite putting up an impressive fight with her Construction Cursed technique, Yorozu was ultimately defeated by Sukuna. Their battle might as well have been decided once Sukuna unleashed Megumi’s 10th shikigami, the General Mahoraga. This shikigami has the ability to adapt to any attack, meaning Sukuna had become immune to Yorozu’s liquid metal constructs immediately after she landed her first attack. Even her Domain Expansion, Threefold Affliction, couldn’t faze Sukuna. When she hesitated due to her opponent’s inaction, Mahoraga quickly dispatched her with one swipe of its heavy sword.

Many Jujutsu Kaisen fans believed that Yorozu had some prior affiliation with Sukuna during the Heian era. However, chapter 219 proved that this wasn’t the case. Yorozu merely happened to be attending the same festival as Sukuna. Being an accomplished jujutsu sorcerer herself, she instantly realized Sukuna’s superiority to the other sorcerers of their age. There and then, she decided the two of them were a perfect match and that the only end to their romance would be one of them killing the other.

Sukuna could not have cared less about Yorozu’s plans for him, but her reappearance in the Culling Game gave him the opportunity to realize his own long-term scheme. Megumi Fushiguro had always been Sukuna’s ideal host body; when the young sorcerer fell into despair upon realizing Yorozu had reincarnated into Tsumiki Fushiguro’s body, Sukuna saw his chance to steal the Ten Shadows Technique. After transferring hosts, however, Sukuna’s plan ran into an additional snag — his cursed energy output was too low.

Even from within, Megumi was resisting the King of Curses’ attempts to abuse his full potential. Sukuna’s cursed energy output was being limited to only 10% of its normal levels, making even reliable techniques like Dismantle and Cleave almost ineffective against Itadori Yuji. To completely break Megumi’s spirit and regain access to all his cursed energy, Sukuna planned to kill Tsumiki using her brother’s cursed technique. Fortunately for Yorozu, this meant her longtime wish would finally be granted.

Gojo Satoru’s perceived invincibility in Jujutsu Kaisen stems from his possession of the rare combination of Six Eyes and the Limitless Cursed technique. Even though many sorcerers believe it’s a fool’s errand to attempt surpassing him, Gojo himself has confirmed that quite a few of his students have the potential to do so — Megumi in particular with the Ten Shadows Cursed Technique.

In Gojo’s opinion, the only reason Megumi isn’t stronger already
