The latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen has provided readers with a glimpse of Sukuna’s original form, reminding them of just how terrifying he can be. Although the character is already scary enough while possessing Megumi’s body, the new flashback scenes featuring Sukuna in his true form are just as intimidating as fans remember.
In chapter 219, Sukuna is portrayed in his original glory as a hulking man with four arms and a face that is half human and half twisted curse. Although he doesn’t actually do much in this chapter, his utter indifference to the world makes him even more intimidating. This appearance is more exciting than the previous glimpses of his true form as it provides more context to those earlier sightings.
While this isn’t the first time that Sukuna’s true form has been revealed, it is the first time that readers have seen him interact with others in this form. Sukuna views himself as far superior to every character around him, and his disdain is palpable even though he doesn’t move or change his expression. Although the full terror of this form isn’t on full display here, as one of his four eyes is closed and his stomach mouth fades into the contours of his abs, the King of Curses is still clearly a major force to be reckoned with.
It remains uncertain whether Sukuna will ever get his original body back in the present day or even whether he wants to. However, with other reincarnated sorcerers like Kashimo having deep ties to Sukuna in the past, the series is sure to feature Sukuna’s past body again. Hopefully, in the next appearance, Jujutsu Kaisen will show how truly terrifying Sukuna’s original form can be by displaying it in action.
