Tokyo Revengers season 3: Release date, episode details, manga adaptation, and more

The announcement of Tokyo Revengers season 3 through a new teaser trailer has brought immense joy to fans around the world. This upcoming season will adapt the highly anticipated Tenjiku arc from Ken Wakui’s popular manga. The official website now features a visual showcasing the arc’s primary antagonist, Izana Kurokawa, along with the new teaser trailer.

Even after the manga’s conclusion, the Tenjiku arc remains one of the most beloved storylines in the series. Spanning 66 out of 278 chapters, this new arc is set to captivate both long-time manga readers and anime viewers as it delves into the conflict between Takemichi and Tetta Kisaki, leading up to the series finale.

While an official release date for Tokyo Revengers season 3 has not been announced beyond its renewal, we can make an educated guess based on the time gaps between previous seasons. The first season premiered in late 2021, followed by the second season in early 2023. Considering this pattern, it is likely that the third season will air in 2024. The anime is expected to be available on Crunchyroll and produced by Liden Films.

In the Tenjiku arc, Tokyo Revengers season 3 will introduce Izana Kurokawa and Tetta Kisaki, who seek revenge on the Tokyo Manji Gang (Toman), led by the deuteragonist, Mikey. The main focus of the conflict will be Tetta Kisaki, a formidable opponent for Takemichi despite his time-leaping abilities. This arc explores pivotal events leading to the future that Takemichi is striving to change.

Following the Tenjiku arc, more than half of the Tokyo Revengers plot will be animated, leaving only the Bonten arc, the Three Deities arc, and the Kanto Manji arc. These final two arcs form the concluding section of the story, in which Takemichi forms his own gang and confronts Mikey to break the cycle of multiversal sorrow.

The previous season of Tokyo Revengers, season 2, concluded the Black Dragon arc. The highly anticipated final episode contained foreshadowing elements that hinted at the eventual conclusion of the show. In this arc, Takemichi decides not to time travel again until he and Mikey are in charge of Toman. He recognizes the significance of preventing Mikey and Kisaki’s expulsion from the gang as crucial elements in changing the unfortunate course of history. Takemichi’s growth and maturity will lead him to make significant decisions in Tokyo Revengers season 3.

For those unfamiliar with the series, Tokyo Revengers follows the story of 26-year-old Takemichi Hanagaki, who discovers that the Tokyo Manji Gang has killed his first love, Hinata Tachibana, and her younger brother, Naoto Tachibana. In a twist of fate, Takemichi is sent back in time twelve years and informs Naoto about the future events leading to Hinata’s death. Naoto, now a detective, manages to survive, but his sister’s fate remains unchanged as she is assassinated by the Tokyo Manji Gang. The story revolves around Takemichi’s attempts to prevent Hinata’s death, save Mikey and Toman, and alter the course of events.
