Mercedes has given the biggest hint yet that Lewis Hamilton will return to F1 in 2022.
Following an almost two-month hiatus, Lewis Hamilton was welcomed back by his Mercedes team in a special social media post.
After losing the 2021 Formula One title to Max Verstappen in questionable circumstances, Hamilton’s social media platforms went silent, with Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff previously describing his driver as “disillusioned” by the events.
Hamilton, on the other hand, broke his quiet on Saturday and has already shared another update ahead of the new season.
Mercedes say ‘welcome back’ to Hamilton
On Monday afternoon, Mercedes released a picture depicting Hamilton in his racing suit and helmet, standing in front of a wall of encouraging sentiments.
The messages include greetings from fellow sports, celebrities, and fans, as well as Mercedes’ ‘welcome back’ statement.
Hamilton hasn’t said anything else regarding his plans for 2022, but he is under contract with Mercedes until 2023.
