Chase Elliott and Kevin Harvick were among five teams to have a member of the crew ejected and lose pit selection for failing pre-qualifying inspection numerous times ahead of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (3:30 p.m. ET on FOX, PRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
The five teams that had inspection violations were Harvick’s No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, Elliott’s No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, Harrison Burton’s No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford, Todd Gilliland’s No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford, and Josh Bilicki’s No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet.
Robert Smith (No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford), Matt Barndt (No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet), Cody Sauls (No. 21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford), Tony Manzer (No. 38 Front Row Motorsports Ford), and engineer Nicholas Sowa (No. 77 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet) were among the crew members who were ejected.
On Saturday, at 1:30 p.m. ET, Cup cars will take to the 1.5-mile track for practise, followed by group qualifying at 2:15 p.m. ET.
