In recent weeks, Haas has experienced considerable changes, one of which was the departure of Russian sponsor Uralkali. As a result, the team’s owner, Gene Haas, is expected to increase investment.
According to rumours, after the departure of Uralkali as their primary sponsor, Gene Haas, director of the Haas F1 team, will boost his investment in the squad.
Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the team has seen substantial changes, including the end of its association with Uralkali and the cancellation of racer Nikita Mazepin’s deal.
After that, Kevin Magnussen was expected to replace Mazepin, and he has negotiated a multi-year contract with the team.
According to RACER, Gene Haas would invest more money into the team to ensure their future after electing to give the seat to Magnussen rather than investigating pay driver alternatives.
Other sources of investment are also being looked upon, with negotiations taking place with existing partners as well as prospective new ones to fill the void left by Uralkali.
Haas with an exciting start to 2022
In addition to the recent off-track modifications at Haas, the team had some challenges leading up to the latest pre-season test in Bahrain.
The American team was unable to take part in the first day of testing due to freight problems. They were given permission, however, to add these hours to future test days.
Magnussen surprised everyone by recording the fastest time of the day on Day 2, while driver Mick Schumacher nearly followed suit at the end of Day 3, putting in the second best lap on Saturday.
When the new season begins on March 18-20 in Bahrain, the squad will be trying to improve on their challenging 2021 campaign.
