After suffering from severe intestinal pain at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, AlphaTauri has provided a new update on Pierre Gasly’s condition.
Pierre Gasly’s status has been updated by AlphaTauri, a few days after the French driver reported of acute pain in his digestive tract towards the finale of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Gasly could be heard gasping and breathing hard on the radio as he spoke to his race engineer after crossing the line in eighth place to score his first points of the season.
“I feel like my intestines are going to fall out of my body,” he said.
“Sorry, they were the worst five laps of my life. I don’t know what’s happened, but [I’m in] so much pain.”
After the race, Gasly exposed the extent of his discomfort to the media.
“I don’t know what’s happened with my intestine, but I was dying inside the car. I was screaming because of pain,” he explained.
“I had the feeling like every left turn there was someone stabbing me on the inside the intestine, so it was not nice. The last five laps, it was just about surviving.”

When RacingNews365.com inquired about Gasly’s status and whether the cause of his pain had been found, a team official told that the Frenchman had completely recovered.
“[It was] nothing serious, just some intestinal pain, but [now] all [is] OK!” they exclaimed.
Following his accident, Gasly will have a few days to take a rest before the Australian Grand Prix on April 10th.
