Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda were taken to the Everglades for some unique practise ahead of the Miami Grand Prix!
Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda started their Miami Grand Prix weekends by entering the airport and travelling to Naples, Florida’s Everglades.
The two Formula One racers were given keys to two built specifically swamp buggies, one in Red Bull color schemes for Verstappen and another in AlphaTauri vibe for Tsunoda.
The two racers roared onto the ‘course,’ a circuit composed of standing water, to gain experience by competing in a series of races in a head-to-head display.
Red Bull athletes Jett Lawrence and Zion Wright accompanied Verstappen and Tsunoda behind the wheel.
Verstappen: You can always do insane things with Red Bull
“I didn’t really know what to expect from swamp buggy racing,” Verstappen beamed after climbing out.
“I was shocked when I arrived, because I’d never seen anything like this, it was really cool. It’s pretty amazing to drive and it’s so different from what we are used to.
“With Red Bull, you know you always get to do some crazy things, and this is just on another level!”
Tsunoda had a great time driving a car that was distinctive to his F1 car.
“Swamp buggy… [it] was definitely the first time in my life, and I super enjoyed it – a solid day,” he said.
“Driving the buggy was like a jet ski; you can’t turn the car when you are full throttle. But it was easier than expected and I was able to adapt quite quickly, and I had a lot of fun!”
