In a challenging 2022 season, Charles Leclerc has picked a tumultuous Grand Prix for Ferrari as his current favorite F1 race.

In a challenging 2022 year for Ferrari, Charles Leclerc has selected the Austrian Grand Prix as his personal best triumph.

After winning the season-opening race in Bahrain, the Monegasque entered the season as among the favorites for the 2022 Drivers’ Championship.

Ferrari’s early title prospects were highlighted by a victory at round three in Australia, but their season faltered owing to reliability problems, driver errors, and operational blunders.

Ferrari continued to perform significantly better in 2022, taking advantage of the technological regulatory changes to become a front-runner in Formula One.

Charles Leclerc chose his round 11 win at the Red Bull Ring as his individual highlight from the 2022 season, a race that unfortunately had severe reliability problems for teammate Carlos Sainz.

“My best one is probably Austria,” Leclerc responded.

“It felt particularly good after the previous races that didn’t go our way, so Austria was a really good one.

“We had a very good tyre management, very good pace from the first lap to the last one. So it felt good.”

Leclerc: Ferrari changes much on Sundays

Leclerc won the honor of earning the most pole positions in 2022, despite falling short behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship with a few rounds remaining.

The Ferrari F1-fundamental 75’s performance was highlighted by his nine P1 qualifying finishes, but Leclerc emphasized the significant contrasts between their excellent qualifying sessions and worse race days.

“I think with new tyres and low fuel it was a really strong car. The feeling was really good,” said Leclerc.

“We were struggling a little bit more on the Sunday, especially with tyre degradation, struggling to put the car in the right place for it to be nice on tyres, and we’ve paid the price quite often on Sunday.

“A very, very fast car the Saturday, a bit more difficult to understand on the Sunday.”
