Attack on Titan’s third part of the final season will be divided into two parts

It has been revealed that the upcoming Attack on Titan: Final Season — Kanketsuhen TV anime will be divided into two parts, with the release of a 30-second trailer for the first part. The premiere of the first part is set for March 3 in Japan, with a special broadcast scheduled. The second part is expected to be released later this year. Animation production studio MAPPA explained that the decision to split the season was made due to the workload involved in its production.

Attack on Titan: Final Season — Kanketsuhen was initially announced in April 2022, generating immense excitement among fans. The first part of Attack on Titan: Final Season was aired in 2021, further heightening anticipation for the remaining chapters of the story.

The team behind the anime remains consistent, with Yuuichirou Hayashi serving as director, Hiroshi Seko as series composer, Tomohiro Kishi as character designer, Jun Shishido as chief episode director, Daisuke Niinuma as chief animation director, Kazuo Ogura as art director, Shigeki Asakawa as photography director, and Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto as music composers. Returning from Part 2 are Itsuku Oonishi as color designer, Manabu Akita as another chief animation director, and Motoi Okunou and Subaru Ikeda as 3DCG directors.

Attack on Titan is based on the manga created by Hajime Isayama, which began serialization in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in 2009 and concluded in April 2021, spanning a total of 34 tankoubon volumes. The manga tells the story of a post-apocalyptic world where humanity is threatened by giant creatures known as Titans. The surviving humans take refuge behind colossal walls, but when the Titans resurface, a young boy named Eren and his companions are thrust into a battle for their very survival.

The anime adaptation of Attack on Titan commenced in 2013 under the helm of WIT STUDIO as the animation production studio. MAPPA took over for the Final Season after three successful seasons. The franchise has expanded to include various spinoff manga, novels, games, and even a two-part live-action Japanese film series, captivating audiences across multiple mediums.
