The Pokémon Company has teamed up with Japanese artist Yu Nagaba to create a new line of Eeveelution cards, which are exclusively available through the Japanese Pokémon Center. Nagaba is renowned for his minimalistic art style, reminiscent of newspaper comics. This collaboration showcases Eevee and all its evolutions, and it’s truly impressive.
The box set, priced at 4800 yen (approximately $36 USD), includes a rubber playmat, card sleeves, and a deck box. Currently, the set is part of a lottery on the Japanese Pokémon Center website. Additionally, Nagaba’s artwork is featured on a portfolio and a card display frame, priced at 1980 yen (about $15 USD) and 1490 yen (around $11 USD), respectively.
Starting from May 24, the Pokémon Center will offer a promotional card of the Eeveelutions for every 1000 yen spent on TCG-related purchases. Furthermore, an upcoming announcement on May 5 will unveil more details about a collaboration between Nagaba, Pokémon, and the clothing brand BEAMS.
The collection of Eeveelution cards and merchandise designed by Nagaba has sparked my interest. I can’t help but imagine how amazing it would be to see all my favorite Pokémon in Nagaba’s minimalist style. It’s the perfect inspiration for a minimalist tattoo. Give me Raichu in your style, Nagaba, and I’ll proudly wear it on my arm forever.
Let’s delve into the artwork Nagaba has created for this captivating collection of cards and merchandise.
