Prior to his upcoming F1 departure, Sebastian Vettel revealed having a “funny” feeling following his last Friday in the motorsport.
Following the last Friday of his Formula 1 journey at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Sebastian Vettel had expressed feeling a little “funny.”
After a 15-year career that saw 53 victories from 298 races, four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel is leaving this weekend.
He had a promising sixth place finish for Aston Martin in the first session at Yas Marina and then finished 12th in the second session.
Speaking after his 300th day of Friday practise as a racer, Vettel thought that while it was business as normal, he actually felt the significance of the moment.
“It’s been like many other Fridays to be honest once you pull out of the garage, you get into your rhythm and do what you know best,” Vettel explained to media.
“[That] is to gather a lot of information and get into the groove of the car.
“It didn’t take long this afternoon and this evening the track changed but that’s as we know (as conditions change from dusk to night throughout the second session.)
“A lot of things are really familiar, but it does feel a bit funny being the last Friday.”
In celebration of Sebastian Vettel’s last Formula One weekend, his father Norbert has found the original racing outfit, helmet, and gloves worn by the former Heppenheim go-kart driver, which are now on display in the Aston garage.
When he saw the costume, Vettel claimed that “I had some memories that took me back to 1995 (when he met Michael Schumacher).
He said, “It’s been a while, but it is very nice to see.
